If there comes a time when you're in the mood for a sticky sweet, super mushy and lovey dovey story this is the book for you to read.

I downloaded this book almost two years ago and just now found the time to give it a try. I just wasn't in the mood for a mushy story but since it isn't a long book, I made my way through. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy love stories but this one was just a bit too sweet for my liking.

It's a fast read, nothing difficult to understand or comprehend. It's a bit predictable but sometimes you need that type of story. Good story if you like super sweet love stories with a super sweet ending too.

Touched by Angels edition by Peggy Webb Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

When Jake Townsend crashes his motorcycle to keep from hitting four year-old Jenny, he has no idea that this little girl and her mother, will completely change his life. After the accidental death of his daughter, he has walled off his emotions, and closed off his heart. Jake is consumed with guilt, although it's completely misplaced. Somehow, her lovely mother and this special child are breaking down walls he put up six years ago. He isn't certain he likes the feeling, but helpless, he returns to them again and again. If this thing in his heart is anything to go by, he already loves her.

Sarah Love is a doll maker and, the mother of a child born special. She is extremely protective of Jenny, but cannot stop her from responding to Jake. He is gentle and patient with her daughter, and considerate of her. Do men like him really exist any longer? Jake is a knight in shining armor, and doesn't even know it. Can she allow him to become an even more important part of both Jenny's life and hers? He doesn't seem the staying type, but she wants and needs him. Against her own will, she is already starting to fall in love with him.

Get caught up in one of the most tender and endearing romances I have ever read! You can identify with the characters and their responses seem true to life. Sarah and Jake's fall into love is incredibly sweet, but also has a couple of bumps along way, just as actual relationships do. If there were six stars, I would have given them. Historical and paranormal romances are my usual fare, but this contemporary romance was a lovely rose among many flowering weeds. Do not miss this one! It will make your day! I cannot recommend it highly enough!
This was a pleasant book with a sweet although highly predictable love story. I liked it well enough until the "30 years later" section. I am puzzled as to why a section like that would be included in a book that has a sequel. It also didn't seem to fit well because the remainder of the book seemed to be happening more or less in the present day or close to it, and so did the "30 years later" section. Other than that, this was a nice way to spend s gloomy afternoon.
This was a beautiful story. It swept me off my feet. There were some formatting issues. Period in places where commas ought to be (I found quite a lot of this), capital letters in the middle of sentences. The beginning was a bit rough. The short sentences felt like an attempt at increasing the pace, make it feel urgent, but unfortunately for me, it gave the beginning a staccato fee. Every short sentence dragged me out of the story and made it very hard to get into. So honestly, I skipped a few pages until the words began to flow. About the time Sarah appears on page the story really begins to pick up.

Otherwise, I found myself captivated by this story. It's a very sweet story, loaded with very real emotion. Jake is a hard man, whose positive he's unlovable, which is what makes him such a fantastic hero. Sarah is a hard working mother trying to take care of a special needs child. At times, she was a little too sweet for me. There were some points where she wasn't entirely realistic for me and I wanted to see her feel something real. And sometimes the emotion got a bit over the top. But really, the story pulled me in and kept me reading and kept me rooting for this family. I loved Gwendolyn. She made me laugh out loud. And Jenny was so real I wanted to kiss her. I wanted to be a fly on the street in the front of their house. I laughed out loud (and often continued to giggle several hours later). I cried. My heart soared and broke. I loved it and I look forward to reading Jenny's story.
An easy read that is a trying romance, which evolves into the love Jake and Sarah needed so much. Jenny becomes the daughter Jake never thought he would have after losing a previous family.
This isn't my typical read. This is a romance but with HEART. I was moved to tears on more than one occasion. Even though it is a sappy love story. I don't read Nickolas Sparks. I don't read true romance. I feel if the characters in a story are not going to make realist choices then why be realist just go to pure fantasy but this story was different.
***SPOILERS***
Even though the characters fall in less than a month and live happily ever after, the story line between the daughter without a father and a father who has lost his daughter was so touching and heartbreakingly real. I was reading with tears running down my face. I actually sobbed at one part in the book. Children can and do make adults see what is so close to you that you completely over look them. The child's character in this story is without a doubt the best and most well written character in ages.
This is a timeless story, not limited by a particular decade but possible in any of those I've lived in. The characters are developed so carefully, so artfully, and their inner conflicts remain inner but eventually lead to a climactic resolution between the two main characters. The child, Jenny, born "special" plays a partial role in bringing these two adults together and then apart. In the sequel, well, ... I won't tell you yet! Jenny's mother, Sarah, presents a strong female lead and for that alone, I would recommend this book for adolescent girls as well as adults. There is romance, but the scenes are tastefully and discreetly presented.
