TRAITOR The C I N Series Book 2 eBook Christina Leigh Pritchard Reviews

CIN author Christina Leigh Pritchard created a complex universe with deep characters. She crafted a web of details that draw the reader in and keep them tangled.

CIN is one of those books I had a hard time putting down. The ebook was about 130 pages long and I devoured all of them. Initially I found it a bit rough around the edges. There was some wording that sounded confusing and parts of the dialogue stalled occasionally. These things aside, there was a strong story and great world building.

The characters are at times immature and spoiled, however, they are teenagers acting like teenagers. Lisa, the heroine, gets deposited by her unstable mother smack dab in the middle of crazy town. The other teens, and her aunt, don't exactly welcome Lisa with open arms. I also discovered some unexpected characters who stole my heart.

CIN moves at a rapid pace. At times I found it a bit predictable, but Pritchard did such a great job storytelling, that I couldn't stop reading. She build an elaborate world that left tons of possibilities for future books. I am adding this to my series list. It wasn't perfect, but CIN left me intrigued enough to want more.
"Traitor," the second book in Christina Leigh Pritchard's "C I N" series, is even more intense and thrilling than its predecessor--and even more ambitious. Alternating between the voices of different characters and moving back and forth in time, the novel gives a well-rounded perspective of the secret life of Pritchard's paranormal cast. It takes a deeper look at familiar favorites and introduces new human variables into the "C I N" equation.

As the story unfolds, some of the questions raised by Book 1 are answered, though most remain unanswered and still more are raised. Rich with back stories, side stories, and other brow-raising moments, "Traitor" goes beyond expounding answers and touches upon a very touchy topic in every young woman's coming of age the issue of trust.

Who, if anyone, can a young girl trust? How should she deal with conflicting stories from different people? Should she trust her instinct, or investigate things to the fullest extent possible? Are all those nice folks out there nothing but wolves in sheep's clothing? How can one find the real sheep, if, that is, there are any real sheep still out there?

Pritchard's paranormal creations remain addictive and intriguing. Each one is a riddle that the reader can't wait to solve in later installments. Hints and suggestions are tossed out like free samples, the kind that get the reader hooked and beggin' for more.

The plot of Book 2 is far more intricate than that of the previous book, warranting the reader's close attention to every little detail. Pritchard presents her thick plot with grace, effortlessly navigating her reader through every pock on the underbelly of "C I N" with her trademark well-written prose and authentic style.

My only gripe with "Traitor" is that it got me wanting so much more "C I N" that I think I'll go crazy waiting for Book 3 to be published!
Traitor is a very intriguing and mysterious read; full of questions and twists along the way. It was still a great story adding the mystery of Alex and Ally and the history behind their immortality. The meaning of C I N is revealed, but is it the truth or a lie?

Again this revolves around Lisa, Ally and Alex, but with the introduction of a bunch of new characters that only adds to the evolving twists and turns of their lives. Since Lisa was changed, she and Alex are starting to get on each other's nerves. They are arguing, fighting and are having second thoughts. With each argument, emotions get intense causing weather anomalies with major destruction. Lisa is feeling guilty and really trying to control herself. After one particularly bad fight, Lisa goes into the garden and is approached by a couple that appear to be like Lisa.

Lisa is kidnapped and held in a cell with a strange woman that claims she is the beginning of all like Lisa. While Lisa is captive she listens to this woman and her stories. Lisa tries to work everything out; the puzzle pieces are there, but they just won't fit together.

Is this secret cult real or was the beginning misleading her? Why is Alex keeping so many secrets if he truly loves her? Who is this other girl that was a part of Alex's life? What is happening to Lisa and her abilities? Is she turning to the dark side? What is happening to Ally, why is her hair losing its colour?

There are so many elements to this particular instalment and it took me a while to work out what to write in my review. There is a lot of backstory about a society and the discovery of the other beings like Lisa. Secrets are hidden, but if revealed could save them all. I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first, but it was still a good read with intriguing and mysterious qualities. I am looking forward to reading book 3 and finding out what is in store for Lisa and Alex next.
My rating for this book would be 3 stars. I really enjoyed reading the first book, but unfortunately the second one fell a little short for me. I definitely struggled a lot more with this one, for the first half I just couldn’t get into the book. I think the reason being that there were so many POV shifts that it was just hard to keep track of everything. At times it felt as though we were at one place only for two seconds later to be somewhere different because of the POV changes.

There were SO many twists and turns in this book. The first installment left me desperate for answers to my questions and this book only added to the questions and the answers. I was extremely curious as to what would happen to the main characters.

I did enjoy how this book ended and how there was so much unexpected in this book. Oh, and I really like the cover to this book. It’s so pretty!
